We are a non-profit organisation founded in 1994 with the aim of promoting the ecological restoration of the La Janda lagoon and to disseminate its natural, heritage and historical values.
"La Janda Lagoon Friends Association" is a non-governmental organization made up of a group of people residing in the area La Janda lagoon or in its vicinity and who had the privilege of knowing this exceptional wetland before it was defiantly desiccated at the end of the 60s of the last century.
Since its foundation, the Association has been acting before the administrations to achieve the restoration and protection of the wetland, participating in the realization of censuses and studies of birds, conferences, talks, workshops, exhibitions, protest actions, installation of informative posters, collaborating in publications and media and being present on social networks and the internet, thus contributing to spreading the natural and heritage values of La Janda and keeping alive in society the objective of recovering this exceptional wetland for all.

A recently published legal study called Public ownership of wetlands. The case of La Janda lagoon has come to definitively clarify that the Janda wetlands are publicly owned, that they are currently occupied and privatized without there being valid concession titles for it and that the Administration has the legal instruments and the obligation to proceed to recover their full domain and subsequent restoration.
